Responsibilities
Echo Technicians (Echo Tech) also known as an Echocardiograph Technician, create 2-D and 3-D pictures of patients' hearts through the use of high-frequency sound waves and special equipment. Echocardiography is one of the specializations that may be chosen by an Ultrasound technician. Professionals in this field use sound wave projectors to project sound into human tissue in a conical or rectangular beam. Echo Technicians specializations include adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography or fetal echocardiography.Requirements
- 1+ year of recent experience in this setting
- Valid professional license or registration if required by this state
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be required
- Valid ARRT or ARDMS Credentials per your discipline
- Specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required
- Professional References
