Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and passing scores on the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Required to float to ICU and IMC units as needed
- Night shift schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts, 18:50 to 07:20
- Weekend coverage required as needed
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate
- No requested time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- No more than 7 days of time off allowed per 13-week contract
- Returning nurses must have a minimum one-year separation from previous MedStar employment to be eligible
- Completion of facility and unit-specific Sitel modules is required within one week of signing the contract
- Labs and DS appointment must be completed within 48 hours of signing
- Travelers must be comfortable proceeding in the hiring process without a manager interview
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience required
- Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Two supervisor references from the past two years required
