Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in California requiring a current CA RN license and strong ICU background.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 4x8 hour shifts from 07:00 to 15:30
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend and as needed by the unit
• On-call shifts assigned as needed
• May float to other units or campuses within scope of practice based on facility needs
• A shuttle is provided for floating to other campuses
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred
• Initial orientation and required modules are completed via e-learning, with modules typically taking 1 to 5 hours
• Team structure supports flexibility with floating between ICU and other units
• Return staff must have a separation of at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Only one holiday request for time off will be approved during the assignment
• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• Local candidates are accepted at a local pay rate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS in hand
• Minimum of 3 years recent RN ICU experience
• At least 6 months prior travel experience required
• Must be willing to float within the hospital and to alternate campuses
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status
