Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a MI RN license and 2 years of PACU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital
• Day shifts with variable start times from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm, 12-hour shifts
• On-call rotation for nights and weekends with the current staff
• Weekend requirements limited to on-call coverage when not scheduled
• Continuously monitor vital signs and level of consciousness during anesthesia recovery
• Manage airway and intervene in the event of respiratory distress or obstruction
• Administer medications and manage pain or post-operative symptoms effectively
• Assess surgical sites, monitor for bleeding or complications, and perform physical assessments
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be considered

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
