Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 24 months of recent experience, an active IA or compact RN license, and Epic charting proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital med/surg post-op surgical care unit with transition to another med/surg tele unit
- Assignment consists of 3x12 hour day shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Travelers may be required to float to multiple campuses within the system, depending on skillset and contract
- Cares for a variety of medical-surgical patient types, including post-op surgical patients
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Will train on 3E med/surg post-op unit prior to transitioning to 5E med/surg tele unit
- May be asked to assume charge nurse responsibilities or precept new staff as needed
- First-time travelers are accepted if they have completed at least one travel contract in the past 18 months
- Must be open to extending beyond the initial 13-week assignment
- Holiday coverage may be required, and only limited time off will be granted during peak holiday windows
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 24 months current experience in Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele within the past 18 months
- Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring highly preferred
- BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Heparin administration experience required
- Driver’s License required for verification
