Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shifts, with IA or compact RN license and at least 24 months of Med Surg or Med Surg Tele experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med Surg/Med Surg Tele environment with both post-op surgical and general medical-surgical patients
- Initial training on the 3E Med Surg post-op unit with transition to 5E unit after March 10
- Night shifts are 12 hours, totaling 36 hours per week
- Required to work every third weekend and rotate holidays as scheduled
- May float to all campuses within skillset and contracted unit as needed
- EMR used is Epic and prior experience is required
- Responsibilities may include assuming charge duties and precepting new team members as needed
- Must be open to contract extension past 13 weeks
- First time travelers are accepted if at least one travel contract was completed within the past 18 months
- Holiday coverage and weekend rotation are required as part of the contract
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 24 months recent experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Tele within the last 2 years
- AHA or ARC BLS certification required
- Proficiency caring for a variety of Med Surg patient types
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Experience administering Heparin required
- Skills in telemetry/cardiac care preferred
- Driver's license required for compliance
- Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Med Surg Tele must be presented
