Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position, requiring a compact RN license and advanced certifications with recent LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms
• Serve a high-risk antepartum, labor, and immediate postpartum patient population
• RN patient ratios are 1:1–2 for laboring patients
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, Monica Novii, and Neptune equipment
• Telemetry monitoring available at bedside and nurses station
• Scheduled for 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am) with rotations every other weekend
• Required to float within assigned region and within scope of practice to multiple facilities including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division
• No on-call or call-back requirements for travelers
• Required to work approximately 75% of holidays
• Core responsibilities include labor management, circulating cesarean sections, postpartum care, triage, and newborn resuscitation
• Team includes 24/7 charge nurse, secretarial support, hospitalist, intensivist, OB physicians, anesthesia/CRNA, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT team
• Department provides 2 days of specialty unit orientation in addition to facility orientation
• Green OR scrubs provided by facility

• Up to 6 days of time off may be approved, excluding holidays, with requirement to fulfill contracted hours

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM required
• Proficiency in labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin and epidural management
• Experience using EPIC EMR
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit
• Willingness to float within the designated region as needed
