Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with adult and geriatric experience, AL or compact RN license, and strong IV and wound care skills.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00), with option for 4x12s
• Every other weekend required
• Float as needed and possible charge nurse responsibilities
• Level II trauma facility experience preferred
• Adheres to a strict 30-minute lunch policy with no skipped meals
• No schedule adjustments or RTO after contract confirmation; maximum 7 days of requested RTO allowed at time of confirmation
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible
• First time travelers accepted
• Modules are completed during orientation and are non-billable for RNs
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS certification via AHA required
• Fit Test required
• NIH certification preferred
• Experience with IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac usage
• Travel and Level II trauma experience preferred
