Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown Charge RN for a night shift position requiring charge experience and a MN RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Stepdown Care Unit within a critical access, Level 4 trauma center
• Night shift position (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient population includes those requiring advanced stepdown monitoring and care
• Works every third weekend
• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR
• Special procedures performed include central line insertion, cardioversion, ART line insertion, and chest tube insertion
• Uses specialized equipment including NICOM, Nihon Kohden, Heated High Flow (Airvo), Bipap (V60), and Vent (PB980)
• No on-call required
• Role includes leading Stepdown Unit nursing staff and overseeing advanced procedures and equipment use
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs
• Pre-start training modules required and must be completed prior to orientation
• Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
• Holiday coverage may be required per unit policy
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Maximum of 5 days requested time off (RTO) is preferred

Requirements

• Active MN RN license; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience and prior charge experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience preferred
• Supervisor reference required for consideration
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Travelers must be separated from prior permanent staff per diem employment by at least 3 months prior to consideration
