Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a CT or compact license and strong tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Handles adult patients on a ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, including every other weekend
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 426 staffed beds
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic for electronic charting; Epic experience preferred
• Free parking available on site
• Responsible for providing telemetry and Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
• Obligated to participate in emergency response activity during natural disasters or emergencies
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto approved
• Pre-hire modules must be completed prior to start
• Scrubs required as per facility guidelines

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required; must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required (1.5 years with prior Level I trauma or travel experience considered)
• Current BLS certification and demonstrated telemetry competency required
• Must pass EKG/telemetry exam prior to starting
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required unless exempt for religious or medical reasons
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must live farther than 75 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
• Return staff must have been gone for at least 2 years to be considered
