Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient care setting involves emergency medical cases across various acuity levels
• Floating within scope may be required
• Epic EMR is used and previous experience is required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• All ER candidates are required to complete orientation modules during the first week
• Fingerprints must clear before assignment start; average turnaround is 15-20 business days
• Return staff must not have been employed by the health system in the previous 12 months
• Facility maintains a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Natural nail policy is enforced for all staff
• First week of assignment is not eligible for time off
• Holiday coverage may be required
• Time off requests must be submitted with initial consideration

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent ER nursing experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate's, or BSN accepted)
• Current certifications required for ER setting
• Two professional references required
• Must submit to fingerprinting as required by Virginia state code
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN is preferred but not required
