Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Floating within scope may be required
• Patient charting is completed using Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is required
• Locals are accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• Participation in required orientation modules assigned during onboarding
• Must comply with natural nail and tobacco-free workplace policies
• Candidates must not have worked at the specified health system as staff or traveler within the past twelve months
• Fingerprints must be cleared before the start date; start date planning is necessary due to the 15-20 business day processing time
• All holidays may require coverage and are not guaranteed off
• Must not exceed 40 hours worked per week without managerial approval

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 12 months recent ER nursing experience required
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accepted)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current SSN and DOB required for processing
• Submission of two professional references required
• Compliance with fingerprinting requirements for ER candidates as outlined in Virginia code 37.1-183.3
• BSN preferred but not required
