Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Resource Float Pool position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

Work in the Med/Surg Tele Resource Float Pool of a hospital setting
Patients include a variety of Med/Surg and telemetry cases
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
Night shifts with 3x12 hour scheduling (19:00-07:00)
Weekend shifts are required as needed
Floating required to other units within assigned hospital campuses
Recent Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required
On-call or additional shift requirements: two on-call shifts or two additional shifts every six weeks
First-time travelers are accepted for this position
Must be able to float within the scope of practice to different units as needed
RTO (requested time off) must be submitted at time of application; requests after submission will not be considered
Attendance policy: no more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation
Must be able to shave if required to pass onsite fit testing
Former permanent staff cannot return to the hospital system as a traveler
Pass/fail testing required during orientation
Block scheduling is not available for this assignment

Requirements

Active SC or compact RN license required; pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience; 2 years preferred
Must pass cardiac dysrhythmia and medication test on the first day of orientation
Must meet a 75-mile radius requirement; local candidates are not accepted
