Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring strong MCS experience and alternating day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
Patient population includes critically ill cardiovascular patients
Mechanical circulatory support (MCS) procedures required
Alternating day and night shifts, every 2-3 weeks, with 3x12 hour schedules (7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30)
Requires use of Epic EMR with prior experience
Responsibilities include providing advanced care to high-acuity cardiovascular patients with mechanical support devices
Required orientation modules are completed on the first day and typically take about 2 hours
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-intensity ICU environment

Requirements

Active UT or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
Minimum 2 years of CVICU RN experience required
Experience with mechanical circulatory support equipment required
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Experience with Epic charting required
First time travelers are accepted
Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility; local applicants will not be considered
Former full-time employees of the health system are not eligible to return as travelers
