Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Interventional Services with Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience and a compact or ME license.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab within the Interventional Services department
- 5 bay unit with 1 procedure room
- Treats inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department cases
- Cases include cardiac catheterization, angiograms, and various interventional radiology procedures
- Schedule is primarily 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend call shift
- One night of weekday call per week (4:00PM–6:00PM) and rotating weekend day call (Saturday and Sunday 10:00AM–1:00PM) per month
- No floating required
- Uses Cerner for charting and Pyxis medication system
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maine or Compact state required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year experience in Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology required; 2+ years preferred
- Experience with cardiac cath, angiograms, and IR procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and nephrostomy tubes
- Previous experience administering and recovering patients from sedation
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- No previous permanent employment with any Northern Light Health Hospital
- Applicants must reside at least 100 miles south or southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401) for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide patient care in a cardiac cath and interventional radiology setting including sedation administration and arterial access recovery
- Work closely with a unit RN supervisor for support during duties
- Orientation period will vary based on experience
- Scrub attire for procedures is provided
- Free parking available on site
- Flu vaccination is required for all start dates on or after 9/30/2024; only medical exemptions considered
- Holiday scheduling expectations will be discussed during the interview
- Not open to first-time travelers
