Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Unit night shift role requiring a NH or compact RN license and advanced cardiac care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the telemetry care unit of a hospital setting
• Night shifts are 12 hours in duration, three shifts per week
• Care for post-cardiac procedure patients, including TR band and hemostasis management
• Patient population includes those requiring cardiac monitoring and stroke assessments
• May be required to float to ED hold, ICU/PCU, or to affiliated hospitals as needed
• Cerner EMR used; experience is preferred but not required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekly orientation provided to all new staff
• Travelers may be requested to float to other affiliated hospital locations
• Applicants residing less than 50 miles from the facility are considered locals and receive a local rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 12 month break in service
• Three professional references required once committed, including two from leadership

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required at time of consideration; temporary licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification needed prior to start
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum of 3 years recent telemetry experience required
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and must pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding
• Experience with post-cardiac procedure care and stroke assessment required
