Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position, requiring a SC or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Position located in a short term acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:6 to 1:7
• Night shift position with manager accepting either 3x12 or 4x12 schedules (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to like units and sister facilities may be required
• Epic EMR is used and experience is preferred
• Expected to attend and participate in staff meetings as scheduled
• Scrub color is royal blue
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Be prepared to join emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but may be requested
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of offer; additional RTO may not be approved
• Pre-start modules are completed before first shift and average about 4 hours
• Assignment is in a 97-bed hospital
• Cannot be submitted to more than one unit or campus in this health system at a time

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (AHA only)
• Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Preferred experience in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Must complete pre-start modules assigned by the facility
• Driver’s license and other required documents must be submitted for consideration
• Candidates who have worked as staff (including PRN) at the facility must be separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a reduced pay rate
