Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts requiring at least 2 years of prior ED experience, a NC or compact RN license, and EPIC EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a combined Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department within an ambulatory setting
- 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
- Patient ratios are 1:4 with 18 beds and an average daily census of 75
- Float required between all system campuses as needed
- Holiday and every other weekend shifts required
- Use of EPIC EMR is mandatory
- Duties include triage, managing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, and care for both adult and pediatric emergency cases
- All travelers should be prepared to float across system campuses as operationally needed
- Module-based orientation is required and completed on unit during orientation period
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
- Strict attendance policy enforced with zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Scrub/dress code details will be provided during onboarding
Requirements
- Active RN license in NC or compact state required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC preferred
- Proven experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Skill in phlebotomy, IV starts, and triage required
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Experience working with EPIC EMR required
- All candidates must successfully pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance with two attempts allowed
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
