Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts requiring at least 2 years of prior ED experience, a NC or compact RN license, and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

Work in a combined Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department within an ambulatory setting
3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
Patient ratios are 1:4 with 18 beds and an average daily census of 75
Float required between all system campuses as needed
Holiday and every other weekend shifts required
Use of EPIC EMR is mandatory
Duties include triage, managing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, and care for both adult and pediatric emergency cases
All travelers should be prepared to float across system campuses as operationally needed
Module-based orientation is required and completed on unit during orientation period
First time travelers are welcome to apply
Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
Strict attendance policy enforced with zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
Scrub/dress code details will be provided during onboarding

Requirements

Active RN license in NC or compact state required at time of consideration
Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC preferred
Proven experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Skill in phlebotomy, IV starts, and triage required
Previous Charge RN experience preferred
Experience working with EPIC EMR required
All candidates must successfully pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance with two attempts allowed
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
