Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring prior CVPICU travel nursing experience and active dual-state or compact licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• May float to the cardiac med-surg floor to assist with patients
• Floating is required between both Missouri and Kansas city campuses, including a location 12 miles southwest of the main hospital
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Provide advanced pediatric critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients
• Work in a Magnet-recognized, Level I Trauma, academic teaching environment
• Assignment is open to local candidates at the same rate
• Scrubs may be any kid-friendly color or pattern
• Free on-site parking with permit provided
• Facility is smoke-free and nicotine testing is required
• Must have applied for both required state licenses prior to start if not already in hand
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of staffing rotation
• Previous permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return for travel assignments

Requirements

• Active RN license for Missouri or Compact status, and Kansas RN license required at time of consideration
• At least 1 year of experience as a traveler in a pediatric CICU/CVPICU setting
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (pending not accepted, RQI not accepted)
• Experience as a critical care nurse in pediatric CVPICU or CICU required
• Pass a medication/dosage competency test in the first week with 100% accuracy (up to 3 attempts)
• Date of birth and social security number required at time of consideration
• Two recent (within 12 months) supervisory professional references required
