Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position in Michigan requiring a MI RN license, travel experience, and telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Position requires floating to all adult acute care units including Med/Surg and Stepdown
- Assignment is night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
- Expected to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Patient ratios are 1:4-6
- EPIC EMR is used and previous EPIC experience is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Local candidates are accepted with no local radius rule
- Care for adult patients requiring both medical-surgical and telemetry-level care, including dysrhythmia management
- Must float across all relevant units based on staffing needs
- No block scheduling is permitted and block RTO is not approved
- All RTO requests must be submitted during application; maximum of 5 days RTO allowed per contract
- Scrub color required is hunter green
- Free parking is available using facility badge for garage access
- Returning staff must wait 12 months before returning to the facility
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Pre-assignment online modules must be completed
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required by start date (no compact licenses accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
- Proof of high school education required regardless of higher education
- Experience with Level 1 Trauma hospital preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
