Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position in Michigan requiring a MI RN license, travel experience, and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Position requires floating to all adult acute care units including Med/Surg and Stepdown
• Assignment is night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Expected to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratios are 1:4-6
• EPIC EMR is used and previous EPIC experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Local candidates are accepted with no local radius rule
• Care for adult patients requiring both medical-surgical and telemetry-level care, including dysrhythmia management
• Must float across all relevant units based on staffing needs
• No block scheduling is permitted and block RTO is not approved
• All RTO requests must be submitted during application; maximum of 5 days RTO allowed per contract
• Scrub color required is hunter green
• Free parking is available using facility badge for garage access
• Returning staff must wait 12 months before returning to the facility
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Pre-assignment online modules must be completed

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required by start date (no compact licenses accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred)
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Proof of high school education required regardless of higher education
• Experience with Level 1 Trauma hospital preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
