Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position specializing in liver care and transplant, requiring a VA or compact RN license and transplant experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on liver care and transplant cases
- Handles intermediate care/PCU patient populations with transplant needs
- Day and night shifts available, 3x12 hours, either 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00
- Floating within scope may be required
- Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience required
- Responsibilities include providing intermediate and progressive care to liver and transplant patients
- Module-based orientation is required and must be completed by Friday of orientation week
- Return staff must not have worked as a traveler or perm within the last 12 months
- Locals are accepted at the same pay rate, with no radius restriction
- Time-off requests must be included up front and no time off granted during the first week of the assignment
- Facility is a drug and tobacco free workplace, with a natural nail policy enforced
- No smoking is permitted on the premises
- First-time travelers are eligible for consideration
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required in a relevant setting
- Transplant unit experience required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation required)
- BSN preferred, but diploma or Associate degree accepted if from an accredited school
- Epic charting experience required
- Submission of two professional references is required
