Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in California requiring a current CA RN license and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU of an acute care hospital
• Primarily day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 10:00 to 22:00
• On-call required: 2-3 weeknights (2330-0800) and 1-2 weekend shifts (0800-2000 or 2000-0800) per six-week schedule
• No floating to like units required, but may float between facilities within the state as needed
• Uses Epic EMR and Epic experience is required
• Patient caseload primarily includes post-anesthesia recovery for surgical patients
• Provide nursing care and monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit during recovery
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager discretion
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Return staff may be eligible after a 3-month break
• Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to different pay rates
• All travelers expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
• Parking available with associated cost
• RTO must be included at time of application and is limited; frequent or extended RTO may impact hiring consideration

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years required
• LA Fire Card issued within the last 30 days required
• Must commit to working 3 of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Modules must be completed pre-start
