Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with trauma level I experience and the ability to scrub and circulate.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital
- Unit handles a variety of cases including general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
- Average daily surgery census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms
- Day shifts available (3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30)
- On-call required: 6 call shifts in a 6 week period
- Floating required within the hospital and to affiliated hospitals as needed
- Cerner EMR is used for charting
- Scrub attire is provided
- Role requires both circulating and scrubbing on a wide range of surgical specialty cases
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Auto-approval for 5 or fewer days of non-holiday requested time off; more requires facility approval
- Parking onsite is free
- Former permanent or per diem IU Health employees must have a 12-month gap before being considered for travel assignments
Requirements
- Active and in-hand IN or Compact RN license required prior to start
- Minimum 3 years of operating room RN experience with at least 1 year in Level I trauma center
- Experience in both circulating and scrubbing roles required or preferred
- Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
- Must provide two supervisor references
- No pending licenses accepted
