Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and active licensure for a 13-week acute care assignment serving diverse inpatient and outpatient populations.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care setting with both inpatient adult/geriatric cases and outpatient services for pediatric to geriatric patients
• Unit covers IP/OP/Home Health; OT, PT, and ST provided across settings
• Caseload will include hand therapy, orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary cases
• 189-bed hospital with average census of 150, servicing various specialized units
• Use of upgraded Cerner B EMR system; experience preferred
• Day shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7am-6pm with 1 hour lunch (4x10); no holidays required
• Floating required between inpatient, outpatient, and home health as needed
• Duties include assessing, planning, and providing therapy to a diverse patient population, with a large focus on hand therapy for OT
• Team includes dedicated therapy supervisors, leads, aides, PT/PTA, COTA, and interdisciplinary support
• General department orientation provided with skills checklist and assigned clinician support
• Dress code: burgundy polo or long sleeve shirt, black pants, and closed-toe shoes
• The facility is JCAHO certified for Stroke care, with robust early mobility and elective orthopedic programs
• No weekend or holiday coverage required for OT schedule
• Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities within the past year

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist state license required if applicable; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Occupational Therapist experience
• Active BLS certification required
• Two professional references: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months, one supervisor or peer reference within the last 3 years
• Copy of valid driver’s license required for consideration
