Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience and active ARRT, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on the IR/Vascular Tech unit within a Level 2 Trauma Center
• 7 total procedure rooms including 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR/Vascular suites
• Procedures include port placements, liver biopsies, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC and central line placements, neurointerventions, fem-pops, AAA repair, carotids, EVAR, and angioplasties
• Average caseload is over 20 procedures daily across all rooms
• Primary EMR is Cerner, transitioning to Epic; Siemens and Merge equipment utilized
• Required to float for vascular hybrid cases as needed
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00am–5:30pm) or 5x8-hour shifts (7:00am–3:30pm)
• Weeknight and weekend call rotation approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends with a 30-minute call response time
• Holiday call coverage may be required
• Scrubs are provided and personal scrub caps may be worn
• Duties include preparing suites, ensuring radiation safety, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, setting up sterile fields, assisting physicians during procedures, managing radiation dose and imaging angles, and handling room turnover
• Team structure includes 1 RN and 2 Techs on IR, anesthesia support for neuro cases, and dedicated charge leads for scheduling and staffing
• Mandatory 2–3 days of orientation with shadowing and buddy call; no call during the first orientation week
• All clinicians must clock in and out onsite
• Position accepts local candidates, but local pay rate applies for those residing within 80 miles

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent experience in Interventional Radiology
• ARRT certification required
• Active ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Siemens equipment preferred
• Must provide two professional references including one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the prior 3 years
• Former employees must have been separated for at least 6 months prior to consideration
