Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift assignment in an acute care, Level I trauma center with IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Level I trauma center and Magnet designated facility
• Average daily census is 21 patients
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Cerner for charting and documentation
• Any solid color scrubs may be worn
• Expected to accept first-time travelers for this assignment
• Must be willing to float within the system to meet patient care needs
• Maximum of 5 days RTO automatically approved; additional requests require facility approval
• Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• First day of assignment is a virtual orientation from home with required modules completed by 4pm CST
• Parking permit provided at no cost and arranged during orientation
• Lab appointment, documentation, and badge photo required at least one week before start
• Strict compliance and training module deadlines must be met prior to start

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand or proof of application with ETA for consideration
• Minimum 2 years' recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only, RQI not accepted)
• Experience in IV therapy, blood product administration, peripheral line management, and PICC line management required
• Familiarity with isolation precautions required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required at time of consideration
• Must not have worked as a perm or PRN employee at the facility within the last 12 months
