Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with a focus on cardiac telemetry patients, requiring EPIC experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in cardiac and telemetry care
• Primary patient population includes acute coronary syndrome, pre and post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, syncope, chest pain, stable STEMI, NSTEMI, new onset and chronic A-fib, and heart failure
• Secondary patient population includes overflow of other progressive care level patients
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Required to work five weekend shifts every six weeks
• Subject to float between all locations within the health system as needed
• Use of rapid response teams and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment including TR Bands, central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring
• EMR system used is EPIC, and prior experience is required
• Responsibilities include care for cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients, including post-intervention cardiac cases and complex arrhythmias
• Work closely within teams utilizing rapid response protocols and manage patients with advanced cardiac support devices
• Modules to be completed during unit-based orientation, typically 2-4 hours depending on the unit
• A zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is strictly enforced
• All travelers are required to complete compliance by deadline before start date

Requirements

• Current NC or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or PCU required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in cardiac telemetry and PCU required
• Experience with post-MI, cardiac cath, and advanced cardiac procedures required
• Must have EPIC EMR experience
• Must pass an EKG (Pass/Fail) exam within two attempts during compliance process
• Education verification must not be from institutions on the Diploma Fraud Florida Education Audit list
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
