Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Charge Nurse role in the Operating Room at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior charge experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift, 4x10 hour schedule from 21:00 to 07:30
• Charge nurse responsibilities with weekends and call required
• Level II Trauma Center with surgical caseloads requiring trauma experience
• Utilizes Epic for charting
• Pre-start online module completion required
• Return staff must have a 2-year gap before being considered again as a traveler
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved in advance
• Participation in natural disaster or emergency response activities may be required
• Scrub requirements and further onboarding details will be provided on assignment

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room RN experience
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Trauma nursing experience required
• Experience in a short-term acute care hospital required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless a religious or medical exemption is granted
• One professional reference required
