Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with ARRT and BLS certification and at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a general radiology department within an acute care setting
- Department features 2 routine x-ray rooms, 1 fluoro room, specials rooms, 4 C-arms, and 1 O-arm
- Imaging studies include routine x-rays, fluoroscopy procedures (such as UGI, Esophagram, BE), IR procedures (Arthrogram, Myelogram, Nephrostomy), scoliosis and leg length imaging
- Average of 120 radiology and fluoroscopy studies performed daily
- Shift schedule includes 2 evening 8-hour shifts (3:00pm–11:30pm) and 2 night 12-hour shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR and AGFA PACS; department equipment includes GE OEC C-arms, Siemens fluoroscopy unit, and AGFA digital plate systems
- No floating to other departments required
- Duties include performing routine x-rays, specialized fluoroscopy procedures, interventional radiology studies, and orthopedic imaging
- Work closely with imaging director, radiology lead tech, and in-house radiologist
- Designated department-specific orientation provided
- Black scrubs required for imaging staff; scrubs are not provided
- No IV starts required in this role
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible; local travelers not accepted
- Former employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers are limited to one year of cumulative experience at this health system before a mandatory 2-year break
Requirements
- Valid ARRT certification and BLS required
- Must be licensed by the State of West Virginia (WVRT Board) – license required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year radiology technologist experience in a hospital setting required
- Experience with OR and fluoroscopy procedures required
- Ability to operate specialized imaging technologies including C-arm and O-arm
- Strong understanding of radiation safety measures for patients and staff
- Physical ability to assist and position patients for quality imaging
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and AGFA PACS preferred
- Good communication skills and attention to detail

Schedule could use some work, alternating weekends vs every 4th weekend. The hospital could be cleaner. The equipment works but is limited to two rooms for all patients, inpatient, outpatient, and ER- 2 rooms with 2 portables.
