Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit position in Hawaii requiring a HI RN license and telemetry experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratios are 1:4 in Progressive Care and 1:3 in step-down ICU
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose checks
- Equipment includes Meditech charting system, Pyxis medication dispensing, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Varied shifts scheduled for 36 hours per week following orientation
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to all acute care units in the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER, is required
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours before assignment starts
- Arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to complete pre-employment health checks on Friday
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Scrubs required as dress code
- Orientation provided during the first week
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
