Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a FL or compact license, required to float among multiple hospitals and work both holiday and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ICU setting, including Neuro ICU and SICU units
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)
• Required to float among four hospitals within the system, with a home base assigned
• Holiday coverage required for either Memorial Day or 4th of July
• Work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• EPIC is used for charting and EPIC experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be available to work pre- and post-hurricane during storm season
• Travelers are a priority for floating and may float to ICU units at other hospitals before being assigned to PCU
• Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
• Scrubs must be a matching solid color with no logos or prints
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Finalized time off requests must be submitted up front and are not accepted after an offer is made
• Laboratory work must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Online learning modules are completed during orientation and annually

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses)
• Minimum one year of ICU nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Direct experience in Neuro ICU and SICU settings required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director within the last year must be provided
• Annual flu vaccine required between 10/31-3/31 (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• Must not have worked in an internal contracted position with this health system within the past year
