Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring a GA or compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Common cases include post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
• Peritoneal dialysis care required
• Telemetry, EKG, and Doppler monitoring performed
• Ratio is 1:5 patients with 16 beds and average daily census of 16
• Utilizes Epic for charting (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Floating required within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule period
• Responsibilities include managing complex cardiac cases, monitoring telemetry, and caring for patients post-MI, with heart failure, or arrhythmias
• Expected to work major holidays as assigned per assignment duration and facility policy
• Navy blue scrubs are required for this role
• Compliance with facility document and orientation schedule is mandatory to start on time
• Modules are completed during orientation and tracked via transcripts
• First time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• Travel pairs are not assigned to the same shift on the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of one year recent experience as a RN
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Recent cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Maximum of seven days RTO permitted; RTO must be submitted at time of application
• Must provide two supervisory references from manager or above (charge nurse not accepted)
• Permanent employees must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to return as a traveler
