Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and ICU/PCU/MS unit floating.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital environment as a Critical Care Float RN
• Float between ICU, MS, MS/Tele, PCU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU within the hospital
• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
• Typical ICU nurse-patient ratio is 1:2-3; PCU is 1:4-5; MS/MS Tele is 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
• Floating to various acute care units is required
• No on-call requirements
• Use of Epic EMR is required; Pyxis and SBAR also utilized
• Provide critical care nursing across multiple units including ICU, PCU, MS, and Neuro ICU as needed
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract and not allowed in the first week
• Holiday RTO is restricted: must be available to work major holidays based on assignment timing
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Compliance items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing to ensure timely onboarding
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift/unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required
• Experience in ICU, MS/Tele, or PCU settings required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above) preferred for consideration
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements mandatory prior to start
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
