Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring night shifts, recent L&D experience, and specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an LDRP setting within a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00-07:00
• Care for labor, antepartum patients (down to 27 weeks), PIH/magnesium, and preterm labor patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Special procedures include NST, continuous fetal monitoring, fetal scalp electrode placement, IV starts, amnioinfusion, and assisting with epidural placement
• Required to attend, but not scrub in, for c-sections
• No floating required
• Every other weekend shifts required
• Uses EPIC and GE Centricity for documentation
• Must be able to work collaboratively with anesthesia during epidural placement and support c-sections
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within a 90-mile radius are not accepted
• Former permanent staff not eligible for travel roles for 10 years
• After two consecutive contracts, a 6-month break is required before returning, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• Holiday and weekend coverage required per unit scheduling
• Two professional references are required for consideration
• Must provide a copy of driver's license and social security card for consideration

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent labor and delivery RN experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
• Experience in large healthcare facilities preferred
• Familiarity with continuous fetal monitoring and advanced L&D procedures
• Experience documenting in EPIC and GE Centricity preferred
