Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with a PA or compact license and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for a community hospital emergency department assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Emergency Department within a 131-bed community hospital
• Serves a diverse patient population in an acute care setting
• Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week assignment
• Provide direct patient care and guide patient/family education in the Emergency Department
• Accountable for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and communicates effectively with physicians
• Must be knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and procedures for reporting child/adult abuse
• Adheres to patient privacy and confidentiality standards
• Completion of Workplace Violence Prevention training required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates

Requirements

• Active PA or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in emergency department nursing preferred
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation competency within 30 days of hire
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
