Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Neuro ICU (NCCU) position requiring advanced critical care skills and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) within a hospital setting
• Float to Surgical ICU (SICU) and other critical care units as needed
• NCCU serves as a Primary Stroke Center handling ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuro surgery, and neuro-medical conditions
• Patient population includes neuro trauma, post-neurosurgical, and complex neuro-medical cases
• Uses advanced monitoring including ICP monitoring, PA lines, waveform interpretation, and ventriculostomies
• Handles ventilated patients and critically ill individuals requiring vasoactive medication management
• 36 hours per week schedule
• Responsible for advanced care of neuro, trauma, and surgical critical care patients
• Works as part of a specialized critical care team with interdisciplinary support
• Position requires a 75-mile radius from the hospital; local candidates are not eligible
• Holiday and weekend staffing coverage may be required per unit needs
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years is required
• Demonstrated experience in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, and critical care interventions
• Experience managing PA lines, waveform interpretation, and various lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients
