Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for an acute inpatient position serving both adult and pediatric populations at a Level 2 Trauma center.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient acute care and rehab setting including adult and pediatric ICUs, med surg, orthopedics, oncology, and stroke
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts from 0800-1630
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Patient caseload includes up to 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per therapist per day
• May be required to cover both adult and pediatric acute and rehab units as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic)
• Self-scheduling is not allowed
• Responsibilities include comprehensive ADL evaluation, documentation for clinical decisions, and flexible coverage of all assigned areas
• Department includes a supportive team with rehab aides and a COTA
• Department-specific orientation varies based on experience and skill set
• Solid colored, clean, and professional scrubs required
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Completion of all onboarding and credentialing requirements by the specified deadline is mandatory prior to start
• Former employees must have a break of at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and subject to reduced rates

Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist license required by start date; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant inpatient acute care experience
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• NBCOT preferred
• Ability to perform ADL evaluation and document justification for next level of care
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a Level 2 Trauma environment preferred
• Two professional references required, including one supervisor and one peer or supervisor
