Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position requiring an active MS or compact RN license and recent specialty experience.
Responsibilities
- Work on a Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) unit located on Floor 3
- Hospital-based inpatient setting
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week contract assignment
- Floating or cross-training not specified
- Deliver nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population during night shifts
- Requested time off must be less than 1 week
- First-time travelers not explicitly excluded
- Current or previous travelers must not have been part of permanent staff within the last 2 years at any CHS facility
Requirements
- Active MS or compact RN license required in hand
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the last 12 months
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility in the past 2 years
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Hattiesburg is best known as the home of the University of Southern Mississippi, William Carey University and Camp Shelby, the largest National Guard training base east of the Mississippi River. It has one of the biggest historic districts in the region, with the art-centric downtown lined with many well-preserved buildings. It's also home to coffee shops, bakeries and bistros, while Colludium Brewing Company offers brewery tours. The 41-mile Longleaf Trace Trail is popular for hiking and biking, as it meanders all the way to Prentiss. Paralleling the main trail is a 26-mile equestrian path.
