Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity critical care unit with night shifts and floating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed ICU with neuro, cardiac, and postsurgical patient populations
• Unit utilizes advanced technologies including Alaris pumps, ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, pressors, IABP, EVD, ICP, TVP, CRRT, Impella, SWAN, and ECMO
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3, with unit overflow capacity up to 36 beds
• Provider coverage includes intensivists, residents, mid-levels, resource RN, rapid response team, and round-the-clock support staff
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Expected to float to other units as needed
• Daily responsibilities include advanced monitoring, ventilator management, and care for critically ill patients with complex conditions
• Team includes resource RNs and 24/7 provider coverage for support
• Candidates must wear navy blue scrubs while on duty
• First schedule determined by facility needs with self-scheduling available thereafter
• Pass/fail EKG testing conducted on the first day with two attempts provided

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Dysrhythmia (EKG) exam required, with study guide provided
• Must live at least 50 miles from facility to be considered
• ECMO experience preferred but not required
