Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and a requirement for a compact or SC RN license in hand.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital
- Assignment is for night shifts, working 3x12s from 6:45pm to 7:15am
- Patient ratio is typically 1:5
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- Floating within scope may be required
- Epic EMR is used; prior experience preferred
- Royal blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- All anticipated time off (RTO) must be requested upon application; approval is based on facility needs
- Candidates living within 60 miles are considered local and may be subject to a local pay rate
- Holiday coverage may be required as needed
- Modules must be completed prior to start and average 4 hours
- During hurricane season (June-November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Free parking is available
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and provide telemetry care required
- Experience in community hospital settings preferred
- SSN and driver’s license required for consideration
- Previous permanent staff and PRN must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler
