Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with ARRT certification and strong cardiac and interventional skills for a 13-week assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac catheterization lab with a daily caseload ranging from 4 to 20 procedures
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Perform procedures such as right and left heart catheterizations, coronary stent implantation, thrombectomy, atherectomy, balloon angioplasty, and STEMI care
• Use of Philips systems and PACS is required
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Call required: one night call shift per week and one weekend call shift per month
• On-call callback within 60 minutes if needed
• Potential to float within skill set throughout the hospital
• Responsibilities include performing and assisting with a variety of interventional cardiology and radiology procedures
• Team-based environment with weeknight and weekend call responsibilities shared among staff
• RTO should not exceed 7 days and cannot be taken during the first two weeks of assignment
• Must be willing to work every other holiday; preference for working 2 out of 3 major winter holidays
• Return staff must be away for at least 2 years before rehiring as a traveler
• Only one contract extension permitted, after which equivalent time off is required before returning
• Must complete 6 hours of pre-start and annual modules, tracked via transcripts
• One employment reference required for consideration
• Candidates may be called off or placed on call once per pay period
• Flexible scheduling is required; block scheduling is rarely granted

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' recent Cath Lab experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ARRT certification and California state license required
• Fluoroscopy permit required
• Experience with EKG, balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, and rotablator required
• Experience with peripheral, abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and venous access studies required
• Experience with Philips and PACS systems required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local travelers allowed)
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required with no exemptions
• License required if applicable
