Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in Vascular Interventional Radiology and required ARRT (R), SCRQSA, and BLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital radiology department with a focus on special procedures and vascular interventional radiology
- Responsibilities include performing special procedure exams and assisting radiologists during procedures
- Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with on-call one day per week and every fourth weekend
- Occasional floating to sister hospitals and within the department as needed
- Patient population includes adults undergoing special imaging and vascular procedures
- Utilizes Cerner for charting and EMR documentation
- Responsible for supervising and educating student radiologic technologists
- Assist in clinical education and training of other team members and students
- Maintain patient safety and provide age-appropriate care throughout imaging procedures
- Perform equipment operation, quality assurance, and cost containment of imaging supplies
- Adhere to OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC, and ALARA standards and hospital safety protocols
- Participation in annual mandatory in-services and maintaining current licensure is required
- May require floating to nearby hospitals within the network
- Travelers may remain on assignment up to one year with a required 30-60 day break before returning
- Must report to lab for drug screening within 24 hours of assignment commitment
Requirements
- Active South Carolina or compact state licensure required if applicable
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
- SCRQSA Radiographer certification required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Graduate from an accredited Allied Health program with at least an associate's degree
- Minimum of 2 years as a radiologic technologist or at least 1 year specifically in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills
- Experience working with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to operate and ensure safe use of special procedures imaging equipment
- English language proficiency (speak, read, write)
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
