Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Operating Room position requiring a GA or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Adult OR department of a large hospital with 21 operating rooms
- Primary responsibilities include circulating for cases in all surgical services including Level 1 trauma procedures, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, total joints, ortho trauma, and specialty neuro procedures such as craniotomies
- Utilizes lasers, endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment, robotics, and electronic nursing documentation
- Works various 10-hour shifts (1045 - 2115) as needed to meet staffing requirements
- No floating outside the OR; will remain within operating room departments
- 1:1 nurse to patient ratio in the OR
- Call is required
- Responsibilities include individual assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in the OR
- Must participate in continuing education and departmental process improvement initiatives
- Agency staff receive approximately 1 to 2 weeks of orientation within the department
- Call coverage is required as part of departmental staffing needs
Requirements
- Active Georgia or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification through AHA required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute care facility
- Proficiency with computer documentation systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
