Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in adult surgical services, requiring a GA or compact license and extensive acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Adult Operating Room of a large hospital setting
• Primary focus on circulating for Level 1 trauma procedures and a broad range of surgical cases including laparoscopic, endoscopic, orthopedic trauma, and specialty neuro procedures such as craniotomies
• Use of advanced surgical equipment such as lasers, robotic systems, endoscopic and laparoscopic tools, and electronic nursing documentation systems
• Assignment covers 21 operating rooms with a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Scheduled for 4x10 hour shifts from 10:45am to 9:15pm
• On-call duties are required as part of the position
• No floating outside of the OR, but may work various shifts to meet staffing needs
• Responsibilities include circulating for surgeries, administering nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Role involves participation in process improvement, continuing education, and professional development initiatives
• Agency staff will receive approximately 1 to 2 weeks of orientation within the department
• Ability to interpret age-specific patient needs and deliver individualized patient-focused care

Requirements

• Active Georgia RN license or Compact State RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute care facility
• Proficiency in computer-based documentation
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including fluency in English
