Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg orthopedic unit night shift position requiring charge capabilities, ortho experience, and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a medical surgical orthopedic unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes total joint replacements, orthopedic spine surgeries, and other orthopedic procedures
- Utilizes specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, and orthopedic braces
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Floating to other inpatient units such as rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation may be required
- Emergency event team assignment may occur as directed by the unit manager
- Must be able to function as a charge nurse as needed
- Must be comfortable participating in emergency or relief team assignments as required
- No on-call requirements for this role
- No more than 2 weeks of requested time off (RTO) may be accommodated
- Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active LA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg ortho nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience and willingness to take charge is required
- Current AHA certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Epic EMR experience required
- Ortho specialty experience required
- No first-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must live at least 65 miles from the facility
