Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a SC or compact RN license and proficiency with EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-bed Medical ICU within a hospital setting
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with critical conditions such as respiratory failure, MI, CHF, arrhythmias, sepsis, overdoses, and neurological injuries
• Perform and monitor specialized procedures including intubation, mechanical ventilation, arterial and Swan-Ganz lines, tracheostomy care, thrombolytic administration, antiarrhythmic and vasopressor therapy, TEE, cardioversion, temporary pacers, negative pressure isolation, and dialysis
• Utilize Omnicell medication system and EPIC EMR
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:30
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
• Provide comprehensive nursing care and frequent neuro checks for patients, including those with stroke and lower NIHSS post-Alteplase
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary critical care team
• Travelers may be considered for first-time assignments based on their experience
• Staff will only float to units where they are competent and qualified
• Compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination and testing requirements, is expected

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience required; unit may review 1+ years based on experience
• At least one year of experience with EPIC EMR is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay; under 50 miles is not eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration
