Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring recent trauma ICU experience, BLS, ACLS, and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical ICU of a hospital setting with a focus on trauma, vascular, GI, ortho/neuro spine, oncology, transplant, and general surgical patients
- Level II Trauma Center environment
- Patient care includes both ICU and post-surgical patients
- Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a
- Required to work 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Floating to like skill set units, including other ICUs and IMCs, as needed
- Epic EMR is used
- Care for complex surgical ICU and post-operative patients from a wide range of specialties
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a high-acuity environment
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except where facility-specific rules apply
- Scrub color or dress code is not specified
- Candidates must be prepared for potential assignment to holiday shifts
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of current surgical ICU experience in a Level II Trauma Center required
- At least 2 prior travel assignments required
- Experience working in facilities with 500+ bed count
- Strong Epic charting system experience required
- Critical Care certification and trauma course completion are preferred
