Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with a current IL license and recent high-risk OB experience for a night shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
• High-risk OB patient population
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), 3 nights per week
• Weekend requirement is every third weekend with a mix of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Episodic floating to post-partum unit is very rare
• Department minimum/core staffing includes 4 RNs, 1 OB tech, and 1 department support assistant at all times
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Responsibilities include advanced electronic fetal monitoring, interpretation, and documentation
• Operate and monitor a variety of labor and delivery equipment including emergency carts and bedside testing devices
• Team-oriented work environment, no solo assignments
• Hospital-issued surgical scrubs are required
• One day of orientation on the unit and one day in the OR (day shift orientation)
• No holiday shifts required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license
• Current NRP and CPR certifications
• Basic fetal monitoring certification with proven competency in the last two years
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience with OB exposure in the past 6 months
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring, fetal scalp electrodes, IUPC, IV pumps, epidural pumps, maternal and neonatal monitoring equipment
• Familiarity with Epic EMR is required
