Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2 NICU position, requiring a MI RN license and at least two years of Level 2 NICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 2 Neonatal ICU within a hospital environment
• Provide care for neonatal patients in a specialized critical care setting
• Five 8-hour shifts per week scheduled from 1900 to 0730, including weekends
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate neonatal patient care
• Engage in patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Communicate pertinent information effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Participation in problem-solving for variances from patient goals
• Mandatory completion of required testing and background checks as scheduled
• COVID-19 vaccination is required
• Requested time off must be discussed prior to assignment start
• First time travelers are not considered for this position

Requirements

• Current MI RN license required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• At least 2 years of Level 2 NICU experience required
• Hospital experience required
• Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to develop and implement effective nursing care plans
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Completion of online modules prior to start with a passing score
