Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position with night shifts, requiring strong MS, Tele, and PCU experience and a NH or Compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small rural hospital covering Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specialties
• Patient population ranges from newborns to geriatrics
• RN-to-patient ratio is 5:1, with ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 for higher acuity PCU patients, for both day and night shifts
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be comfortable floating between MS, Tele, and PCU units
• Must be able to work independently and adapt quickly in a small, rural setting
• Personal scrubs of any color are permitted
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application; a maximum of 5 days off allowed for a 13-week assignment and no late requests will be approved
• No orientation is provided for this assignment

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license must be in hand and provided for consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in PCU, medical/surgical, and telemetry settings
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from American Heart Association required
• Ability to pass a basic dysrhythmia test
• One supervisory reference from the past two years required
• Completed skills checklists for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and PCU within the past year
• Must have previous travel experience and rural/small facility experience is highly preferred
• Candidate must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Permanent address required for consideration
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
